Announcing The Community VIM Producer Contest Finalists And Details On How You Can Vote

Dear VIMworld community,

We were very excited to announce our first Community VIM Producer contest and offer our talented community the chance to showcase their skills to the world.

For this inaugural event, we asked the global community of artists to produce VIM art and background lore that celebrated the key cultural aspects of the holiday, in celebration of our Dutch community members.

In keeping with our vision of empowering communities, we designed this contest in celebration of ‘King’s Day’, or ‘Koningsdag’, as it’s known in the Netherlands. King’s Day is a national holiday where the entire country turns out for a party to celebrate their royal family and enjoy food, music and general festivities.

With the submission deadline now passed, the VIMworld council narrowed down entries to their selected finalists. With them to hand, we now turn to you, the community, to cast your votes for your favorites and select the next VIM to feature in the upcoming VIM Dispenser!

Without further ado, let’s check out the finalists!

All the inhabitants of the capital, and the kitten Arthur, came to the city holiday in honor of the independence of the planet Holando.

Because of the general joy of the holiday, Arthur discovered magical powers in himself — with the help of a cloak, he could fly and carry people over distances.

Other residents realized that the things in his hands had power, so they gave him the things they brought with them to the holiday — magic tulips that heal wounds and even grant immortality for a while.

One day conquerors came to the lands of the Netherlands. They wanted to take away their houses and lands from the inhabitants. People resisted with all their might, but the enemy greatly outnumbered them.

Then one brave guy from the people, his name was Wilhelm, came up with a plan how to outwit the enemy and free their lands without loss.

Following his plan, the inhabitants very quickly drove the enemy out of their lands. So Wilhelm was considered worthy of the title of King of the Netherlands. The lands during his reign became the most prosperous in the entire region.

We have also removed Kyrië at the artist’s request.

To ensure no voting manipulation, only holders of the ‘VIMfam’ role will have access to the vote — this means anyone who was a validated member on the VIMworld server before 4/13/22.

You may only vote once else all your votes will be voided, so play fair! Voting is now open and closes on Sunday 17 April at 12pm PDT (7pm UTC)!

To spice things up, 3 lucky voters will be randomly selected to win a prize of 4.5k $VEED each!

The winning VIM will be announced on Monday, 18 April, and subsequently minted for a special King’s Day VIM dispenser event taking place the week of April 24. More dispenser details to be released in due course.

As a reminder of what’s on offer, the winning artist will receive 20% of all revenue generated by the Dispenser Event, up to a total of 3,646,580 $VEED (approximately $13,000 USD at the time of publishing). The winner will also receive the first minted copy of the VIM with VIM ID #1.

The other finalists will each receive 1% revenue from the King’s Day Dispenser Event, up to a total of 182,329 $VEED (approximately $650 USD at the time of publishing).
