A mid summer early afternoon and a separated forced air system is certainly not an entirely agreeable choice. It is baffling to not find the recognizable cool air blowing and sweat full on, all…
The Florida swing continues as we head to Arnie’s place for the Arnold Palmer Invitational (API). This tournament typically boasts a terrific field and 2020 is no exception. This year there’ll be seven former champs in the field to go along with six recent winners on the PGA Tour. Here’s a look at the tournament:
The Course
Arnold Palmer’s Bay Hill Club and Lodge — Par 72 — 7,454, yards
Defending Champion
Francesco Molinari — 12-under par
Former Champions in the Field
Francesco Molinari (2019), Rory McIlroy (2018), Marc Leishman (2017), Jason Day (2016), Matt Every (2014 & 2015), Vijay Singh (2007), Phil Mickelson (1997)
Who To Watch For
Rory McIlroy — Sits at the top of the world rankings. Has six consecutive top-5 finishes. Won here in 2018.
Patrick Reed — Coming off a win in Mexico. Has one top-10 finish at the API in four career starts. Finished T50 last year.
Bryson Dechambeau — Runner-up to Reed in Mexico. Has three top-10’s in his last four starts worldwide.
Sungjae Im — Coming off his maiden PGA Tour victory. Playing in his eighth tournament in nine weeks.
Hideki Matsuyama — Has back to back top-10 finishes. Would’ve had chances to win both times if he had it all together for 72 holes.
Jason Day — Still looking for his first win since 2018. Withdrew from last year’s tournament on the 7th hole. Won here in 2016.
Justin Rose — Coming off a missed cut at The Honda Classic. Has two missed cuts in his last three starts. Finished T63 here last year.
Xander Schauffele — Making his tournament debut at the API this week. Hasn’t contended much recently, but hasn’t been bad. A T23 has been his worst finish over his last three starts.
Adam Scott — Coming off a T26 in Mexico. Had won his previous two starts. Finished T41 in his last start here in 2018.
